The 'Meldcode for Child Abuse' app is a specialized resource designed for professionals and staff working in childcare settings—such as daycare centers, after-school care, and family childcare—as well as in the education sector (primary, secondary, and vocational education). The app provides an accessible and practical tool to support identification and response to child abuse cases.

With this app, users can:

• Navigate through the steps outlined in the official child abuse reporting protocol, including the decision-making framework
• Access information on child abuse and sexual boundary violations
• Find helpful tips for handling sensitive situations
• Download relevant documents such as signal lists and the reporting code
• Review practical examples
• Consult frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Completing these tasks is simplified with just a few clicks.

The Protocol 'Child Abuse and Boundary Violations,' including the reporting code, is divided into three sections, all integrated within the app:

1. The reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse in the home environment (including the decision-making framework)
2. Mandatory reporting procedures when there is a suspicion of violence or sexual offense committed by an employee
3. Sexual boundary violations occurring between children

The app guides users through the appropriate procedures based on the specific situation, enabling quick navigation to relevant information. Additionally, it offers general resources such as signal detection lists, conversation tips for discussions with parents and children, role assignments within organizations, insights into children's sexual development, real-world examples, and more.

This initiative is developed by BOinK—the Interests Association of Parents in Childcare—and features contributions from numerous collaborating organizations such as the Brancheorganisatie Kinderopvang, Branchevereniging Maatschappelijke Kinderopvang, and Sociaal Werk Nederland for childcare. The educational component has been developed by NVS-NVL in partnership with PO-Raad, VO-raad, MBO Raad, the General School Leaders' Association, and BOinK. The app’s development was undertaken by Casa Solutions (Twan Munster and Kevin Daggenvoorde).
